The fellowship training program ensures that fellows gain experience in all major areas of paediatric orthopaedics.

“It is with the greatest of pleasure that I welcome you, on behalf of the Division, to our Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship website here at The Hospital for Sick Children.”

We continue to be the busiest surgical unit in the hospital from a clinical point of view, offering a full portfolio of subspecialty expertise, whilst maintaining our high profile in research and teaching.

Our website will provide you with a comprehensive review of the opportunities available in terms of operative scope, weekly rounds and clinics, both at SickKids and Holland Bloorview along with outreach clinics. The specific clinical and research interests of each of the Staff are featured along with details of the organization of the rotations, on-call and research expectations.

There is a housekeeping section on important issues such as on-call, professional and personal leave, Canadian work permits and licensure which are best read at your very earliest convenience. On a lighter note, details of our social programme are included with a family ski day being one of the highlights.

There is a full diary of the major academic events of the year at SickKids and with the Division of Orthopaedics at the University of Toronto.

At present we have Fellows from the UK, Switzerland, Ecuador, Turkey and Canada who will join an extensive worldwide alumni network which can be seen across the globe on the “where are they now” page.  All of our fellows form the basis of the Salter Society who enjoy the opportunity to reconnect to trade fellowship stories over a few drinks and dinner every year at the POSNA meeting.

The Sick Kids Orthopaedic Fellowship is in the best of health, with Staff at all levels geared to providing the very best experience for the future leaders in children’s orthopaedics.

With all of our good wishes

— DR. SIMON KELLEY  Fellowship Director, Division of Orthopaedics
